Hi, I have done extensive research into Radio History fro Las Vegas Radio History. Mr. Colson's incredible broadcasting history is fascinating. I have listened to all the audio files. I am researching a Led Zeppelin Concert Date in Summer '69 at Ice Palace in Las Vegas. I believe Mr. Colson was on air at that time. There is no sufficient proof, and Mr. Colson's input is vital.

Please leave me note via email. thank you..

I forgot to mention that today would have been Jeff's birthday. "Happy 63 my friend. You're not here to tell me I can't say it" July 12th will never be the same.

I just thought I'd tell you the lineup on the air in 1964:

Jeff started out working Sat.& Sun. until the end of May.
My name is Barbara and I first met Jeff when I turned 15 and he was 17. We became good friends and were for many, many years. It was actually 1964 when he started working on the air at KENO radio. His birthday was in July and he hated anyone mentioning his birthday. So it was decided that since the Beatles were coming in August that would be a great way to let everyone see what he looked like and sneak in a birthday present without him knowing it. He was the one who got to introduce the Beatles on stage. He was so scared for people to see him. He did a crazy Ed Sullivan inpersonation and had to take his french horn(Bruce)out there. I thought I would die, but I was so happy for him. Can you imagine just turning 18 and being able to do that. We shared alot of memories and Jeff used to tell people that we had been friends for 500 years. He is missed and I thank you for allowing me to at least hear his voice once in a while. It does make it easier.

I was glad to see some mention of Krux/Kriz. I pulled the midnight to 6am shift at KRUX as my first gig, getting the slot because I had a 1st Class license which was originally earned as an opening to a TV production career.
It was a fun family there with Jim Mann, Bobby Rivers, Kirk Russel, Terry Walker, et al.
I moved on to Anchorage AOR station KRKN for morning drive in the early 80's and then to Radio Thailand in Bangkok/Pattaya for some years.
I would be interested to hear any news on the KRUX 60's & 70's staffers before the format change to Big Bad in late 1980.

cheers,
Morgan Evans

Crazy! I was just changing my son's diaper and for some reason I blurted out this theme. As a marketing professional, I was struck by just how effective this jingle was. It has been 20-something years since I lived on the Cape and I can still sing this word for word. Thanks for posting the real thing!
